Readme for Novel sequin aquatic toxicity

Please refer to the publication Ecotoxicological screening of novel bio-based sequins for further research details (currently in review)
Please note that the research publication only includes data for the bio-based sequins and therefore excludes data for petroleum-based sequins.

Data were collected for 5 bio-based and 11 petroleum-based sequins as well as 2 bio-based additives and a reference toxicant.

Data files include:
1. Masses of 8 mm diameter circular sequins (100 sequins per sample type)
2. Changes in mass for sequins after a leaching process (7 d, 80 RPM, 40 C within a shaking incubator)
3. Toxicity data for cryoground sequin particles, sequin leachates, sequin additives and a reference toxicant (procedural blanks and controls are included for quality control)
4. Metal concentrations in the sequin leachates after a 7 d process (analysed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry)
5. Metal concentrations in acidified sequins (analysed by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry)

The quality control statement:
Blank controls were tested alongside material samples to determine ecotoxicity and metal concentrations in the leachates and sequins.
